Brett Smith is a Senior Vice President in the Middle Market Group of City National Bank. CNB specializes in senior secured debt financing including asset-based credit facilities, commercial real estate, equipment finance and leasing, M&A financing, leveraged lending, syndications and capital markets/investment banking (through our parent company, RBC). We work closely with our clients to cultivate comprehensive lending and treasury management solutions to help businesses and entrepreneurs meet immediate and long-term goals. Our Bank is client and employee focused with a high touch and local service model. Brett’s career spans over 26 years in the commercial banking industry holding positions of Regional Manager of Bank of America’s Los Angeles Coastal Market and a dual role as a Senior Banker and Senior Credit Authority at American Business Bank. Prior to this he held positions of commercial credit officer and middle market relationship manager at Manufacturers Bank where he was a top performer. Mr. Smith's career began at Ford Motor Credit Company where he was promoted to manager of dealer credit in 2001 where he oversaw and managed a large portfolio of dealerships with credit commitments ranging from $5 to $50 million.Mr. Smith is a graduate of the University of Arizona and received a double major bachelor degree in Finance and Marketing. Brett also graduated with honors and in the top 3% of his class from Pacific Coast Banking School, a three year graduate level program at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business.Brett is active in his local church and lives in Palos Verdes with his wife and two children.
