Hello! My name is Banoo, and I go by any pronouns.Much of my past work experience is rooted in public-oriented industries, which has given me the opportunity to develop a broad range of skillsets that are applicable in many fields as well as a strong constitution for staying calm in chaotic environments. I have worked in a variety of roles for restaurants, nonprofits, and small businesses, and was always willing to cover and shift departments in the greater interest of the place I worked, because I believe that we all do better when every responsibility is covered and everyone feels adequately supported. Things get unpredictable sometimes, which is why I am more than happy to do a little bit extra if it means that everything works smoother as a result. I am also happy to quickly pick up new skills and familiarize myself with new softwares and structures.In my free time I enjoy reading, playing and listening to music, writing poetry, teaching myself physics proofs, and learning programming. I have always been drawn to science, and over the years have developed a deep love for cosmology, nuclear physics, and biotechnology (specifically in regards to anti-senescence research), and hope to one day go to university once I have made a stable foundation for myself in life. Being queer, Iranian and Mexican American, and having grown up in proximity to much prejudice, I am also really passionate about equity and the wellbeing of others. I enjoy sharing my experiences and cultures with those around me, and am happy to talk about related topics and answer uncomfortable questions because I feel that listening to one another's voices and sharing vulnerability is key in building a better society.
