I teach Family Medicine Residents about Mental Health and Family Systems as well as Interpersonal and Communication Skills. Along with other faculty, I interview applicants for the residency program. I oversee a psychiatry rotation for the first-year residents. In clinic, I provide psychological services to medically indigent patients who do not have access to mental health services elsewhere. I use EMDR Therapy to help patients recover from posttraumatic stress disorder. Currently I am completing a fellowship with the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM). I will be completing a scholarly project which will be presented by poster at the STFM Annual Spring Conference in 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. In the Fall, I will supervise a psychology pre-doctoral intern, and I will also be engaged in a clinical research project with psychiatry and internal medicine physicians.
