I envisioned a groundbreaking national conference to push the exploration and sharing of developments in teaching K-12 students through hands-on projects including both Art and Technology subjects. I convened thought leaders around setting the conference scope and then developed an agenda, identified and recruited a keynote speaker and breakout session trainers. I optimized the event by attracting sponsors and arranged a sponsored venue with technology. I designed a website, and event promotional brochures, and organized an aggressive email campaign which resulted in enough attendee registrations required for a successful launch. This inaugural 3-day event came in on time and on budget but was COVID canceled.

In this start-up position, I developed a K-8 hands-on education program aligned with state standards for a new charter school. I developed a Scope & Sequence and Daily Curriculum using project-based learning for around 350 students. Classroom management, growth mindset skills, and differentiated instruction are all strengths of my teaching style. It was an honor to developed and deliver professional development programs for my colleagues around interactive storytelling and best practices for project-based learning. I served on the leadership team during COVID related planning and envisioned new ways to teach. I trained faculty and staff on technology including cloud-based communications app, Zoom, which resulted in a successful e-learning school environment with synchronous and asynchronous learning.I initiated and launched 5 initiatives within the school including STEM formal and informal programs, a competitive sports team, a school library, and field trips and non-formal learning environments. Our community outreach included a 4-H afterschool program, maker-space programs, and combined student and community fairs. By working with the community I was able to source generous donations which resulted in my ability to return up to 40% of budget surplus each year. Working with a terrific leadership team, we were able to build a competitive middle school program, reconfigure school space to allow for more classrooms and increase income, launch a virtual school, implement Restorative Justice practices and improve internal and external communication.

This start-up business began in our kitchen and grew to meticulously organize and catered corporate events for up to 1,800 people and weddings for up to 600 guests. We built a 1500 square foot commercial kitchen in a business complex from scratch. Along with the business manager, I trained and managed a team of 26 that could cater meals to six events simultaneously and successfully retained 75% of summer employees for 2 or more years. I tracked budgets and assets for 500+ events annually and still attended to special requests for each event. Using social media and effective targeted marketing campaigns, our start-up business was awarded “Top Ten Fastest Growing Businesses in Larimer County.” People loved our monthly marketing newsletter, which I wrote, and still talk about their favorite stories.

In this volunteer position, I wrote and delivered a 26-week curriculum each year for four classrooms (one of which had a STEM focus) for a mixed-age Sunday School Program. I managed up to 40 volunteers who taught in the program for one-month commitments. I worked closely with church staff on special events. I taught in a mixed-age classroom using project-based learning, interactive storytelling, and mindfulness practices.

In this start-up position, I identified the unique story of the company and developed marketing materials, staff development programs, and a consumer education program to tell that story. A fearless public speaker, I shared the story in conjunction with local non-profit organizations that taught adults about investing and estate planning resulting in fee-income increases for the company of at least 10% each year. I was responsible for direct sales of investment, retirement, and estate services and exceeded my sales goals each year. I was invited and attended a national conference for sales professionals that had to attain a high level of sales to attend. I was responsible for revamping the existing investment marketing for school districts and other local governments which grew the program by 30%. I developed a vast team of professionals that mutually referred clients to each other. I worked with an internal team of professionals to plan and execute high-quality events for select clients.
