Barbara Chaffee is the chief executive officer for the Central Minnesota Jobs & Training Services Corporation and the executive director to the Central Minnesota Workforce Investment Board and Central Minnesota Joint Powers Board of County Commissioners, which serves 11 counties in Workforce Service Area 5, including Meeker, McLeod, Renville, Kandiyohi,Wright, Sherburne, Mille Lacs, Isanti, Chisago, Pine, and Kanabec counties. Chaffee received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Masters Studies from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and successfully completed the Minnesota Management Institute at the Carlson School of Business, The Institute for Executive Director Leadership at the University of St. Thomas, and the MMBA at the University of St.Thomas. Chaffee is a member of the Minnesota Workforce Council Association (MWCA), National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB) and the National Workforce Association (NWA) and also serves on the MWCA Gang of 8 State and Local Planning Committee and its Legislative Committee. In addition, Chaffee is President of the Great Lakes Employment and Training Association (GLETA), which serves 10 states in the U.S. Department of Labor Region 5, which includes the states of Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Currently, Chaffee is a member of the Minnesota Workforce Council Association and Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) Workforce Strategic Regional Planning Initiative.

  Barbara Chaffee serves as chief executive of Central Minnesota Jobs & Training Services, Inc. (CMJTS) and, in partnership with the Central MN Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and its governing board, the Central MN Joint Powers Board of County Commissioners (JPB).
