Blended Learning brings together the best of face-to-face classroom practice with online engagement in the digital learning space. This role involves coaching staff and students to make the most of online learning spaces, bringing consistency to the curriculum delivered to students, and ensuring equity of access to learning. To deliver this outcome, I am leading the adoption and implementation of a school-wide digital learning platform for staff and students.

Change of pace in 2021: after a year of lockdown in 2020, I have moved across to Curriculum Leader and my teaching role has updated alongside it. Head of House looks after one of the four Houses of our college, in this case, I have Yaan (Blue), whose symbols the Wolf and Water. With just over 350 students in the house from Yr 7-12, the Head of House works in the Positive Climate for Learning Team to support Pastoral Care teachers, subject teachers, parents and students to achieve the best outcomes for learning.

As a foundation member of staff at this relatively new secondary college in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, I have worked in a number of teams over the years to develop curriculum in Humanities, Drama, Arts and English. My previous teaching responsibilities have included establishing Alkira's VCE History program, working with a Year 10 Humanities team to set up the Australian Curriculum (History) based around the Alkira philosophy of personalised learning, and integrating technology into teaching practice. ACAP is a new approach to a performing arts academy designed for a student cohort with limited access to the traditional scope of performance opportunities. ACAP students are guided to take charge of their own learning in the arts, to develop their own work, to collaborate across the vertical structures of schools and work in cross-age and mixed ability teams to present their performances in a variety of forums.

When our new college began its first senior years program, I set up the Year 12 VCE Drama and Year 11 & 12 History courses, an an exciting and challenging role that required the establishment of new courses of study in two subject areas. After two years of teaching two VCE subjects, I can leave VCE History in the safe hands of my excellent colleagues as I now focus on the VCE Drama program.

The new Middle Years Coordinator role is exciting responsiblility, looking after student achievement and engagement for Year 9 and Year 10 students, and helping them find their way through the challenge of their mid-teen years.

Responsible for ensuring students are engaged in productive learning and for supporting a positive learning culture within the college by building positive relationships with students, staff, and the community.

My responsibilities include managing a diverse team of performing arts teachers in drama, music, dance and instrumental music programs; coordinating curriculum across Years 7-12 and running a performance program for all students involved in the performing arts.

The Assistant Sub-school Leader role focuses on student management and welfare, Pastoral Care, parent-school communication, supporting staff within the team and building a sense of House spirit. Go Towera!

I have worked as a sessional tutor for courses across the undergraduate program at all year levels in the Drama Department at Monash University. The courses I have taught include: The Language of Performance, Modern Drama, Contemporary Drama, Drama in Performance. I have also acted as co-ordinator of the First Year drama programme.
