There is no substitute for a quality education from competent instructors combined with long term experience and consistently demonstrated proficiency. I am very grateful to my mentors over the years, especially to my instructors from the United States Marine Corps, U.S. Department of Homeland Security & United States Schutzhund K-9 trainers.While I have worked as a business consultant and civilian contractor for many years with major firms such as Bank of America, McDonnell Douglas, Dreyfus Investment Corp, ICM (International Creative Management) and the military; my true passion has always been horses and dogs.My methods of training are LOVE-BASED and NOT FEAR-BASED. With horses being herd animals and dogs being pack animals, my love-based training also requires me as an owner/trainer/rider or handler to be their provider, protector and leader. We must consistently demonstrate good judgment and earn the horse/dog's trust & respect as a leader who they can follow much like they would follow the leader of their herd/pack. I apply many of the same training principles that I use with horses to my training of dogs. I have bred, trained, competed and won with various large breed dogs in obedience, conformation and protection work since I was fifteen years old but my passion & focus has always been with German Shepherds.These training principles that I use are also validated by my education at City University of New York where I was on full academic scholarship and graduated with honors and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. While at university, I competed and won in Dressage, Showjumping and Fencing and I have continued my athleticism in various sports and in my dedication to a healthy mind and healthy body throughout my life.In addition to my love of horses and dogs, I also enjoy volunteering with low-income youths, seniors, the disabled and veterans.
