Co-founded and championed the establishment of the Ontario Food Cluster (OFC). OFC builds international trade and investment opportunities for Ontario's agri-food sector, one of the largest in the North America, with over 3,200-companies, manufacturing revenue of over $39 billion and employing 130,000 people directly in agri-food processing/manufacturing and wholesaling and another nearly 483,000 workers in related sectors. The Ontario Food Cluster is an economic development consortium including municipal and regional economic development agencies across South Western Ontario, the Ontario’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs; Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) and Global Affairs Canada.

Led GPI in its vision to make Guelph the top agri-food and life science centre in Ontario and Canada. GPI was spearheaded and founded by City of Guelph and University of Guelph in 2002.Developed, led and managed business start up and commercialization programs including business mentorship and enterpreneurial training for emerging and expanding agri-food and life science businesses. Led and executed marketing and communications plans.Developed and chaired networking events with educational and industry speakers. Fostered information sharing and championed collaborative cluster building initiatives with governments, universities and industry.

Led and managed business development and strategic marketing initiatives and created GFTC’s first business development and marketing division. Developed strong strategic linkages with the agri-food industry, academic institutions and government agencies. Provided business clients with product and process development, nutritional labeling and sensory evaluation consultation and training and maintained strong knowledge of government funding programs aimed at helping clients achieve their research and development, employee training and overall business objectives.

Planned and executed corporate research projects on food and beverage products, packaging and process development. Managed research and development projects from prototype development to commercialization. Conducted food analyses, pilot plant trials, commercial manufacturing trials and plant runs, consumer testing and sensory evaluation panels.
