Managed a team of four and undertaking media relations, campaign planning and implementation, major events, crisis communication, community engagement, corporate communication such as the annual report, policy etc. Achievements : Planned and managed PRIA award-winning Centenary of Toowoomba City – directly organising ten events and co-ordinating a program of about 50 partner community events. One third of Toowoomba (50,000 people) attended these Centenary events Worked with the planning team on extensive engagement for 30 year strategic plan - my team developed communities matrix (then conducted research focus groups, interviews and workshops) then worked with planners on world cafes, street popups, leaders' forums, charettes, mapping workshops, youth council and range of other techniques. Facilitated collaborative, cross-organisational development of the TCC communication style guide with a team of contributors across the organisation, with roll-out and training Developed and trained crisis communication plans for Council Seconded to Toowoomba Counter Disaster Committee during the 2002 bushfires: a four day disaster saw my team deal with 14 local, state and national media. The team of four generated 54 media releases and ensured regular interviews (sometimes half-hourly) with local, state and national media Established new and strong corporate identity for Council, particularly in the publications area Planned and implemented new team processes to ensure quality of work was assured despite a 100 per cent increase in workload in three years.Developed and implemented formal planning and evaluation for the communication team, allowing success to be measured.Developed and implemented the ‘Let’s Slow the Flow’ communication campaign that successfully reduced summertime water use by 14% despite drought in The Garden City in its first year. Coached executive team and councillors during operational issues management.
