    As a Senior Mentor during the early stages of the pandemic, I mentored two college students (Fellows) who were providing pro bono digital marketing work for Chicago small businesses to help in the economic fight against COVID-19 during the summer of 2020. Covalent (formerly the COVID-19 Business Fellowship Program) based in Chicago, connects students, without internships, to small businesses in the Chicagoland area that need support. The entire initiative is volunteer-based, from the founders to the students to the mentors, so there is no cost for the businesses. As a Senior Mentor, I acted as a professional coach for my two assigned Fellows and guided them through projects to include their project brief, project proposal, project deliverables, client relations, final project handoff, offboarding to client and final client presentation. I also met with them to discuss their job experience and how this will positively factor into their future job prospects post-graduation. I invested 4 hours per week to my Fellows over the summer of 2020 spanning 9 weeks — June 2020 through August 2020.
