Production Operator

My role on the Culzean Platform includes:Commissioning of the new Plant EquipmentMonitor and control the flow of hydrocarbons from the reservoir to point of exportMonitor and record plant conditions, bringing deviations or malfunctions to the attention of the Production SupervisorPrepare process plant and equipment for maintenance by applying specified isolations/venting etcPrior to start-up of any plant or equipment, inspect and confirm suitability to return to normal serviceMaintain own work area in a safe, clean and tidy conditionCarry out process system sampling as requiredCarry out regular inspections of the installationMinimising downtime and contributing to the achievement of production targetsPrepare production reportsPerform first line maintenance, identifying and reporting faultsCarry out mechanical isolations, gas tests and work-site inspectionsCarry out emergency duties as required by the OIM / Site Manager

Controlling and optimising the DCS panel operations & the outside operations on the Butadiene Production Plant. I also covered for the outside operations on the G4 Ethylene Cracker. The areas of Plant that I was responsible for included:Butadiene: Raw C4’s Reticulation, Feed & Preparation, Extraction & Distillation, Purification & Solvent Recovery.Cracker: Boilers, Cracked Gas Dehydration, Hydrogenation Units, Pressure Absorption Swing Unit for Hydrogen Purification, Ethylene Reticulation with Let-Down Stations, Ethylene & Propylene Refrigeration, Distillation Towers, Turbo Expanders, Ethylene and Propylene Production.

DCS and outside operations on Auto Thermal Cracking Demonstration Plant within Applied Technology as part of BP Projects.The sections of Plant I was responsible for included:Feed Preparation & Compression, Reaction, Quench with Gas & Oil/Water Separator, Oxygen Removal Unit and Amine Unit.
