Mr. Kinney currently supports the Office of General Counsel at the Defense Advance Research Projects Agency (DARPA), providing programs support, research and analysis. He works closely with the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel in the agency's legal matters. Mr. Kinney has extensive experience in the legal field. The majority of his legal career encircles Intellectual Property. He specializes in patent and trademark prosecution and infringement claims. He has also managed docketing and foreign patent prosecution practices in several law firms. His patent experience encompasses the entire spectrum of sciences, namely biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, mechanical, materials science, electronics, and nanotechnology. He also has almost two decades of experience in litigation matters, including patent interferences, trademark infringement, claims under the Federal Tort Claims Act, Inspector General matters, DOJ civil cases, and GAO protests.Prior to his legal career, Mr. Kinney spent 5 years in the medical field as an Assistant and Technician in the OR, ER, and ICU. His vast experience and diversified talents allow him to easily adapt to many environments and provide valuable management and technical skills to any team.
