I undertook several major projects to increase workplace efficiency and training effectiveness while leading a team of 10 staff members and 100 program participants. I organized and directed the implementation of standard procedures to pay tuition to the school, worth nearly $2M annually, while simultaneously reducing by 40% the number of man-hours required to complete payments. A standout among the staff, I reorganized staff duties to increase workplace efficiency, resulting in over 1000 man-hours saved annually in performing key unit functions. Trained and mentored over 200 students in the program in leadership, engineering, and naval operations. I revised the entire Naval Science curriculum to meet the University of Maryland College Park standards of higher education, leading to 35% increased retention of critical skills. As the sole recruiter for the unit, I promoted diversity and inclusion efforts leading to the highest number of female and minority candidates for the class of 2024 in unit history.

I led 50 Sailors in the complex operations, maintenance, and emergent repairs of cutting-edge nuclear reactor technology. My effective personnel and project management led to over 1000 maintenance actions, tests, and repairs of instrumentation and reactor safety systems. I led plant watch teams for over 3000 hours of planned and emergent maintenance, repairs, and system configurations. I established conditions for de-fueling of both nuclear reactors on board USS George Washington. At the conclusion of my tour, I certified as a Nuclear Engineering Officer by the Department of the Navy, increasing supervisory responsibility and operational knowledge of nuclear reactors. After certification, I was hand-picked to train the 12 new officers of Reactor Department in preparation for initial watch qualifications. I provided over 200 hours of training in support of this objective, with a 100% pass rate on their examinations and qualification boards. I delivered training to 500 Reactor Department personnel in new reactor instrumentation and control systems being installed onboard.
I graduated from the Navy’s most rigorous academic program, completing graduate-level course work (1000hrs) in electrical engineering, chemistry, material science, thermodynamics, fluid flow, mathematics, physics, and nuclear engineering. Additionally, I was certified by the Department of Energy and the Department of Defense as Engineering Officer of the Watch, responsible for the overall safe operation of a nuclear power plant.

During an overseas deployment, I successfully led a team of 15 Sailors through coordinated operations and multiple certifications and inspections. I was directly responsible for the Vertical Launching System and Tomahawk Weapons Control System programs, supervising and planning the maintenance and functionality of these multi-million dollar pieces of equipment in carrying out the Navy's vital strike mission. I was tactically responsible for the employment of the ship's Tomahawk Weapons System. While deployed, implemented a robust training program to maintain position as top-performing Tomahawk Team in theater. The training led to an average score of 96% and selection for more complex simulations and critical missions. I led planning and ship-wide efforts for two major exercises with the Japanese and South Korean Navies, showcasing US naval presence and force projection in the region. This included a liaison trip to a Japanese Destroyer for coordination and planning efforts.
