Adopted lead role in the design of a high-voltage battery pack, collaborating closely with peers and Dr Geoff Cunningham to address the key performance limitations of previous designs whilst enhancing performance. > Executed drive cycle and sensitivity analyses with MATLAB to define energy requirements based on track data. > Developed MS Excel tool to evaluate various cell chemistries for optimisation of the battery pack architecture. > Conducted electro-thermal simulation of busbars to guide material selection for laser welding of battery cells.As Electrical Systems Officer, I overcame major setbacks under intense pressure through effective communication and teamwork with peers to become one of 10/29 teams to pass EV battery scrutineering at FSUK 2024. > Applied self-taught electronics knowledge to undertake comprehensive troubleshooting of the battery pack. > Laser welded cells, configured PCB's for voltage/thermal control and reinstated CAN bus communication. > Designed novel cooling ducts with ingress protection and integrated fans for configurable cooling of pack.
