OSK is a mid-sized practice specialising in medium to large owner managed businesses with a philosophy of close client contact and customer servicePart of the audit team, working directly with clients, partners, directors and managers. I worked on a range of assignments from sole trader accounts preparation, to small, medium and large sized company and Group audits. along with accounting and taxation aspects of businesses across a variety of industries.OSK uses a paperless Audit system (Caseware) and also uses Sage Accounts Production for some of the smaller clients. I am also familiar with Sage Line 50 and TAS books. Responsibilities:-Close liaison with clients on a regular basis leading to a successful working relationships.-Responsible for planning the audit in direct consultation with the partner and the client.-Reported directly to directors and partners on key audit issues and progress.-Preparing quarterly management accounts for certain clients.-Preparation of financial statements including all relevant notes for small, medium and large companies.-Supervised, trained and reviewed work of junior members of staff.

I joined Kenny Cunningham & Co. when I moved to Dublin from Wexford in order to gain more audit experience. Kenny Cunningham & Co. eventually merged with OSK in November 2008 and I was one of just 3 employees retained during the merger.My duties included with this practice included: -- Preparation of financial statements from books of prime entry- Completion of audits of small to medium sized companies- Preparation of draft tax computations for both companies (CT1) and also individuals (Form 11's)- Reporting to partners and managers of the practice on audit issues and areas of concern- Company secretarial filing preparation and submission

Wexford

I commenced my accountancy training with this company which was a local practice in Co. Wexford. The main clients were sole traders and most jobs were accounts preparation. However there were some audits of companies which I was involved in in my latter time employed with this practice.My duties whilst working with this practice included:- Preparation of Vat returns for bi monthly periods and submission to revenue- Preparation of P.30's and submission of same to revenue- Preparation of Form 11's for sole traders and during my third year I was responsible for ensuring that all our clients submissions were made on time.- Preparation of clients accounts from basic books and records- Close contact with clients in relation to various aspects of work and dealing with client queries- Completing various sections of audits of small companies under the supervision of the manager.
