I have over 25 years of IT customer support experience attained by working in government, military, as well as public and private sector positions. I am a hard worker who doesn't give up on problems and my unique skillset will provide value to your business. I prefer I.T. customer service roles because I absolutely love helping clients by fixing their issues promptly or working with my team on more complicated (i.e. higher tier or system outage) issues. I make it my mission to ensure that good communication flows between everyone involved so that all parties, whether it be clients, contractors/vendors, or staff are kept in the loop and updated accordingly.*Please note that my profile here is only for professional contacts and communication with people that I know/have worked with now or in the past. If you send a connection request please include a quick note so that I can determine whether or not to accept. Thanks.*

As the Help Desk Administrator for the University of Calgary's Clinical Research Unit (CRU) I was responsible for the organizational administration of our CRU and APPROACH (Alberta Provincial Project for Outcome Assessment in Coronary Heart disease) online JIRA service desks and Confluence. Other duties included running various jobs (i.e. SQL script data pulls), providing scheduled data reports to Alberta Health Services, completing test scripts and scenarios on our various sites to provide validation, university software renewals for my department, iDatafax/DF Discover, REDCap, Slack, and MS Teams user administration. I also setup IT devices (laptops) and reset those used by previous staff, for use as spares.

As a Tier 2 IT Analyst for Ply Gem Canada I was responsible for the imaging of hundreds of devices (and ensuring that they were delivered to all of the western Canadian sites that I was responsible for) while solving intermediate to complex IT issues that Tier 1 personnel were unable to solve. During my contract I primarily focused on training Tier 1 personnel on IT fundamentals and proper customer service techniques. Due to the short-term nature of my contract I did not get to make the impact that I wanted to but I do feel that I helped my manager and co-workers while I was there which brought me some satisfaction.

As a Field Support Specialist for Veritiv I provided second-level support in a tiered Help Desk system which provided coverage for sites across Canada and in the U.S. I was specifically responsible for 7 sites in western Canada and 3 sites in the U.S. During my brief tenure at Veritiv I solved hundreds of issues related to poorly maintained IT architecture and systems (I.E. incorrectly imaged laptops and desktops, improperly configured MFD's, Wifi Access Point router issues, Scan gun configuration, Windows tablet setup and trouble-shooting for warehouse personnel, etc). I worked with and monitored/supervised local and remote vendor technicians when they visited any site that I was responsible for. I participated in a Follow the Sun queue rotation and was responsible for assigning tickets to our company's FSS techs all over North America.

As a Senior Desktop Analyst my primary responsibility was to ensure that hundreds of new and existing Avmax company devices were properly imaged (or re-imaged) and maintained. I was the team lead for the KACE systems management appliance deployment, Office 365 licensing enforcement, WSUS patch management, and any desktop support projects. Additionally I supplied management with a weekly Help Desk ticket report prior to team meetings, trained newly hired Tier 1 Help Desk personnel, created (and implemented) a new user onboarding process, and always provided excellent customer service.

As a contract coordinator for the Alberta Health Services (AHS) Windows 7 Desktop Operating System Upgrade (DOSU) project, I was responsible for overseeing the replacement of over 18,000 Windows XP devices. My primary duties included data collection, coordinating deployment times with customers and Acrodex or other contracted upgrade teams, email communication, delivering progress reports to AHS and team representatives during weekly meetings, and technical IT support to customers via the AHS LAN Desk portal.
Various - U.S. Government-Operated Ships All Over The World
* Civil service position*As a civil service mariner employed by Military Sealift command, I was the primary LAN Administrator on several government owned/operated ships. My primary duties consisted of supervising an IT department of 7 personnel and reporting on the status of high priority (or abnormal) issues to the department head, or the ship's Captain. I was responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of a shipboard network consisting of 9 servers and over 100 workstations. I also supervised personnel in the ship's radio room, which utilized several line of sight or satellite telecommunications suites to provide data/voice services to ships personnel. This position enabled me to further improve skills that I had learned in the U.S. Navy in a supervisory and intermediate systems analyst role.
Various - U.S. Military Ships All Over The World, And Some Shore Duty
*Military service position*I was in the U.S. Navy for a little over 10 years and attained the rank of Information Systems First Class (E-6). I was responsible for supervising over 100 sailors at one shore duty station and two ships at sea during my time in the military. As an Information Systems Technician my primary duties consisted of the maintenance and operation of complicated computer and telecommunications systems vital to the command (ship or shore, depending) and national defense. I also had the chance to visit over 30 countries and had the privilege of meeting and working with some incredible people from all walks of life.
