Ensure that 3 Designated Systems Trainers have access to all of the resources necessary to provide exceptional training to all new and existing technicians on DIRECTV technology. Oversee and manage the company’s occupational health and safety program for Omaha ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Develop, implement and deliver all safety training, policy updates, and regularly evaluate procedures for improvement and adequacy. Conduct on-site reviews and audits of operations and facilities.  Significantly reduced the number of workplace accidents in Omaha through the delivery of frequent training and detailed recordkeeping. Nearly all technicians hold 100% of their required certifications. Scored an above average score of 86 on the most recent audit as a result of a well prepared workforce. Contributed to Topeka’s 10 point improvement on their most recent Fraud Prevention Audit through mentoring their IIPP Administrator. Assisted in the development of the means for every Field Supervisor in the West Central Region to have all required safety inspections in a single binder.

Supervised 20 technicians, 12 civilians, and two Lieutenant Commanders in system maintenance of air system/pneumatic, HVAC, hydraulic systems, life support, navigation and sonar, control and indicating circuits, and all electronic and communication systems. Planned, developed, and provided technical training programs; used extensive knowledge of adult learning methods in developing curriculum for use in classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, and workshops. Effectively managed an $80,000 operating budget; oversaw 3 consecutive, annual flight simulator upgrades alongside engineers from Johns Hopkins University budgeted at $2 million each year; and charged with overseeing the repair and maintenance of two flight simulators valued at $18 million. Analyzed department’s technical training needs and partnered with subject matter experts as necessary to gather input for development of course content.  Developed course materials including lesson plans, technical guides, and training presentations to be used to train both pilots and maintenance staff on a “one-of-a-kind” submersible vehicle. Scheduled, coordinated, and delivered training for new and existing personnel through instructor-led facilitation, multimedia, and various learning management systems, which resulted in improved participant understanding and retention by using adult learning techniques and methods. Led as many as 16 technicians in time-critical maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and life support systems, preserving the highest levels of quality assurance while supporting an aggressive training and operational evaluation schedule. Led by example; formed a cohesive, professional team of ship and platoon personnel responsible for the flawless performance of all equipment for the Advanced SEAL Delivery System launch and recovery missions. Led the repair and analysis of a major system failure during a critical at-sea evolution and corrected over 75 mission critical material deficiencies, including 16 Battery String repairs that were completed in 6 days. Qualified to teach two Naval Education and Training Command courses of instruction and certified to operate two state-of-the-art Advanced SEAL Delivery System (ASDS) simulators. Expertly led and was responsible for the training of more than 80 skilled sailors including five Chief Petty Officers in the timely completion of 300 jobs for 26 shipboard maintenance availabilities, ensuring all Sixth Fleet assets met their operational commitments. Hand-picked over more senior personnel to lead and mentor the largest division aboard the USS Emory S. Land with more than 130 direct reports. Motivated and challenged subordinates in their personal and professional growth by encouraging continued education. College course participation increased by 300% as a result. Implemented a new qualification and training program that increased qualifications 50% and decreased delinquents by 80%. Executed over 800 jobs for 48 ship board maintenance availabilities, ensuring the readiness of Sixth Fleet surface and submarine assets.

Demonstrated expertise and technical knowledge in the coordination of all division activities during the ship’s Depot Modernization Period (DMP). Coordinated numerous rip outs, cannibalizations, repairs, and re-installations contributing to the on-time underway of pier-side units and rapid restoration of ship systems.
