About Bart De Bruijn

In the last 25+ years, in a variety of roles, I aquired extensive experience with respect to simulation, virtual development and virtual prototyping. In my current role as manager of the Simulation and Modelling team I am part of the Pre-development department of the Apollo Tyres Global R&D. Here I am responsible for the development, maintenance, support and further integration of our Simulation platform in our development process. The Simulation & Modelling team is of paramount importance for both Research and Development teams in the Global R&D minimizing lead time, building up knowledge and reducing development costs. The teams expertise is both on FEA-simulation and empirical modelling as well vehicle dynamics and tyre characterization.The 'Simulation and Modelling' team is responsible for:• Developing high quality (fully automated) simulation tools• Delivering support for all users of the simulation platform in the R&D• Perform virtual submissions for premium OEM• Participate in Cross Functional Teams to deliver and develope knowledge and insight• Defining and execute mid- and long-term strategy for virtual development
