Mr. Eklund is an expert in the design and execution of vapor intrusion studies. He first evaluated VI at Hill AFB in 1989 and since then has worked on over 350 sites across the US, as well as sites in a dozen other countries.Mr. Eklund is an expert in air quality issues. Bart has worked for decades on the measurement, modeling, and control of air emissions from area sources, such as contaminated groundwater, landfills, surface impoundments, and construction activities. He has developed measurement approaches for addressing fugitive emission sources and has performed numerous studies to characterize worker and community exposures.He has been the lead investigator on numerous large, technically challenging air quality studies for the USDOE, USEPA, oil & gas, and chemical companies.He has extensive experience in the design and operation of ambient air monitoring (AAM) networks. He has worked with various continuous and hi-vol methods and his measurement studies have addressed criteria pollutants, particulate matter (TSP, PM10, and PM2.5), VOCs, SVOCs, PCBs, dioxins, H2S, methane, metals and other elements, tritium, radon, pesticides, aldehydes, organic acids, amines, silica and asbestos.Mr. Eklund is the author of approximately 30 journal articles, 30 US government publications, and 50 peer-reviewed papers in conference proceedings. He has served as a testifying expert in US State and Federal Court, as well as for permit hearings, enforcement actions, and international arbitration proceedings. In 2022, he was a testifying witness for the U.S. Senate's Environment and Public Works committee.
