Leading and managing a multidiscipline engineering team responsible for producing the design and coordination of rail systems (Track, Train control, Communication Systems, SCADA, Power Supply and Distribution and other rail sub-systems).Additionally covering the role of Systems Engineering Lead responsible for managing the Systems Engineering approach for the project (Requirements Management, Configuration Management, Systems Integration, EMC, Human Factors and Verification and Validation) Supporting the activities of construction, maintenance and operation activities and phases of transfer to the customer or operators. Responsibilities :• Lead and participate actively in the preparation and adherence to a schedule of deliverables in collaboration with the various sub-systems leads and the planning team. • Manage the System’s design deliverables to schedule and budget. Direct activities relating to the progress and financial reports related to the System design elements.• Establish quality standards in collaboration with the different teams within SNC-Lavalin.• Establish the required needs in terms of resources in the delivery of the plans, specifications and design details in order to meet the commitments in terms of costs, deadlines and quality standards. • Ensure fluid communication between the project management team, the systems design team, construction team and the various internal and external stakeholders related to systems design elements.• Participate actively in the negotiations when changes are made with the suppliers and/or subcontractors during awarding of subcontracts.• Responsible for the delivery of all engineering products meeting quality, schedule and budget goals within the Rail Systems disciplines• Responsible for inter-disciplinary coordination of complex engineering packages

Technical lead for an initial study into the performance and future capacity of the Heathrow Terminal 5 Track Transit System. This study lead to Heathrow appointing SNC-Lavalin as Principal Designer in the development of a project to upgrade to Bombardier Innovia 200 system (GOA4, Automated People Mover), responsibilities included:- Capturing user requirements from various client stakeholders (including Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Project and Airlines);- Holding technical discussions with Bombardier on additional vehicle procurement and additional functionality required;- Converting user requirements and technical discussions into technical requirements for contract;- Advising client on best practice from other communication based train control systems.Appointed technical advisor to Heathrow Airport for detailed design of Critical Upgrade Project to Bombardier’s CITYFLO 650 system, responsibilities included:- Reviewing Bombardier Design documentation against the relevant legislation, British Standards, European Standards, Heathrow standards and contract requirements;- Attending Bombardier Preliminary and Final Design Review meetings on behalf of the client;- Advising on operational readiness activities and training requirements.Also carried out a review and analysis of Positive Train Control Safety Plans (PTCSP)

• Principal engineer responsible for delivery of multi-discipline upgrade projects across the Jubilee Line, in order to increase service by 20% to 36 trains-per-hour (EFC £255m).• Successfully delivered engineering sidings renewal to be utilised for passenger turn-back.• Technical author of contract for modification to the Thales Transmission Based Train Control signalling system (SelTrac).• Building, maintaining and leading engineering teams competent in all areas of their scope.• Additionally covered the role of Principal Project Engineer for concept design of multi- discipline upgrade projects on Northern line in order to increase service by 20% to 30 trains- per-hour (EFC £695m).

• Managed engineering assurance, operational interface and resolution of technical issues for the Northern Line upgrade including the introduction of the final four areas of SelTrac.• Lead signal engineer for engineering vehicles upgrade project to enable use on all LU lines/signalling systems.

• Managed a team of discipline engineers as Designated Project Engineer (DPE) for enabling stage for Key Output 2 of the multi-billion pound programme. • Signalling Project Engineer for re-signalling of London Bridge, including writing contract technical requirements, signalling assurance and design approval of signalling design.• Signal Sighting Committee Chairperson and responsible for developing and specifying new type of signal to be used for re-signalling.

• Provided signalling assurance, design approval, operational interface and signal sighting for Key Output 1 of the multi-billion pound programme – 12 car trains at 24 trains per hour, through the core route. Commissioned 171 signals, 217 track circuits, 45 point ends and 2 interlockings over three phases. Acted as sponsor for 3 product approval applications. Management of graduate engineer.• Attended and passed the following courses; Signal Overrun Risk Assessment Training, WESTLOCK Maintenance and Signal Sighting Chairperson

• Working within Investment Projects - Signalling, Power and Communications. Delivered various projects as DPE including: signalling life extension, track circuit conversion, emergency gantry renewal and minor works package. Developed interlocking renewal and recontrol project as DPE. Also acted as Network Rail’s Project Engineer on a number of commissionings.• Attended and passed the following courses; CDM for Designers, Engineering Safety Management, Project Environment Management and SSI Appreciation. Qualified as a Signal Sighting Committee Member.
