This study lead to Heathrow appointing SNC-Lavalin as Principal Designer in the development of a project to upgrade to Bombardier Innovia 200 system (GOA4, Automated People Mover), responsibilities included:- Capturing user requirements from various client stakeholders (including Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Project and Airlines);- Holding technical discussions with Bombardier on additional vehicle procurement and additional functionality required;- Converting user requirements and technical discussions into technical requirements for contract;- Advising client on best practice from other communication based train control systems.Appointed technical advisor to Heathrow Airport for detailed design of Critical Upgrade Project to Bombardier’s CITYFLO 650 system, responsibilities included:- Reviewing Bombardier Design documentation against the relevant legislation, British Standards, European Standards, Heathrow standards and contract requirements;- Attending Bombardier Preliminary and Final Design Review meetings on behalf of the client;- Advising on operational readiness activities and training requirements.Also carried out a review and analysis of Positive Train Control Safety Plans (PTCSP)
