About Bart Wilson

Working in the DevOps/Build/Test/Release space gives me a perspective that most developers never get to experience. You get to see all the aspects of a product, from the basic source, to the installation, to documentation, and finally to the run time. By having these perspectives it allows me to provide expertise at a higher level. Exercised this knowledge to change direction of work within the teams on many occasions. Build, Test, and Release also comes the processes to support the product once it has shipped to customers. These processes are just as important as the processes used to get the initial release done. If you are unable to build patches or upgrades, this has a significant impact to customers. Thus the concept of reproducible and consistency are mantras that must be constantly thought about. As I've worn many different hats, it allows me to bring an unique insight to any position. This insight allows me to learn things quickly and also ask questions that others may not think to ask.

Listed skills include Linux, Software Development, Subversion, Clearcase, and 28 others.
