I engineer and execute site development and renovation at this extensive and legendary horticultural preserve, formerly under the direction of Kristi O'Donnell, Director of Horticulture.Past projects include development of site development for a new entry, including renovation of primary pathways, parking, water systems, etc.; installation of an extensive, 100-meter-long, highly-engineered "Rain Garden" and drain system to deal with nearly one million gallons of annual drainage -- the system buffers drainage events (heavy rainstorms), and feeds the irrigation reservoir, as well as protecting bluffs and other land assets; development of a large nursery section, including meticulously-installed raised beds and an irrigation system, and many other projects (set-up for many concrete pours, including hand-dug pole building foundation, etc., etc.)

Management and cultivation of fifteen acres of lavender plants [over 14,000 plants], including weeding, watering, and planting. Development of propagated plants for sale from a stock nursery; provided over 8,000 plants for sale from cuttings.Directed relocation of all several thousand plants from one leased field to another, digging up all plants, transporting to new location, preparing new field [900 foot rows...!] and installing water lines and other infrastuctures, and replanted field.Harvested lavender bloom crop in early summer for distillation and sale as bundles.

Kitchen management: supervised staff; cooked all entries and in the slow off-season, washed most of the dishes; menu development, butchery, sauce preparation.This restaurant still exists, but was always a rinky-dink operation: my skill with preparation of classic broths was never utilized, and the proprietors cured me of an interest in continuing professional food preparation as a career. Heart-breakingly like Denny's, but with apparent aspirations to be a "gourmet" restaurant. Still, a successful restaurant in an indiscriminate and small market. I wish them well, as always.
