I am always willing to go the extra mile (or two) to help the team achieve better results. During the pandemic, to alleviate some of the stress, I implemented “Ice Cream Sundae Fundays” for nurses, setting up a sundae station for 2 days to cover all shifts and ensure everyone had equal access to a treat. It was so successful in lifting people’s spirits that I now do it monthly with a different theme each time. I keep extra boxes of tissues in my office and make it a safe space for anyone to come if they need a moment. When I learn of bereavement situations or patients who are pregnant under less-than-ideal conditions, I always offer a small basket of things to make them smile or distract them while maintaining HIPAA.As a warm, friendly person, my colleagues trust me to hold what they share in confidence. I see my work as my signature; it’s a reflection of me, and I care about how it’s received. My hope is that my genuine concern for my colleagues comes through. I enjoy inspiring the next generation by streamlining onboarding processes and meticulously pairing new nurses with the right seasoned nurses to enrich their experiences.I love solving problems by developing creative, unexpected solutions. The projects I enjoy most are those requiring extensive research, like tracking down equipment. This pursuit has taken me to neighboring hospitals and allowed me to flex my creativity in creating quick and simple user pamphlets to arm team members with vital information.⇨ FUN FACTDetails don’t escape me, especially when it comes to my glasses.
