I own and operate a standardized test prep and tutoring service where I assist students in preparation for the ACT test by creating a personalized curriculum to meet their needs. I also help students who are in need of specific remediation in reading and writing.

Saginaw, Michigan Area

At Buena Vista School District I served as the principal of Buena Vista High School. As principal I was responsible for the oversight of all school departments including: instruction, athletics, safety, and personnel. I successfully managed school grants including the School Improvement Grant and the Think Respect Grant (formerly Safe and Supportive Schools). I created the master schedule for the building and for individual students, implemented professional learning communities, chaired interviewing committees, created standardized testing schedules, hosted parent and community engagement events, organized the homecoming game parade, sat on the committee to redesign the evaluation for teachers, planned various school honor ceremonies including graduation and carried out various other roles necessary for the function of the high school.

At Dansville Schools I have taught 7th-12th grades. As an English Language Arts teacher for 7th and 8th grade, I am responsible for creating curriculum, progress monitoring students, and differentiating instruction for students of varying academic levels. As a 9th-12th grade technology teacher, I have taught Business Computers, Productions and Technology & Sociology classes. Within the district, I participate on district and school level English Language Arts Curriculum teams and I also participate on the District Literacy School Improvement Team. For the past year I have co-chaired as sponsor for the Class of 2015 which included fundraising, planning and organizing a Diversity Assembly and supervising float building for homecoming. I have also taken the initiative to be one of the teacher leaders on the district’s Teachers Learning with Teachers (TLT) initiative sponsored through the ISD.

Ann Arbor Technical High School (Formerly Stone High School)

At Ann Arbor Stone Alternative School I taught 10th and 12th grade English Language Arts, Writing for Publications in which I supervised the school yearbook and newspaper and I also taught a Sociology elective course. At Stone High School I served a population of “at-risk” students who were seeking credit recovery. I worked closely with the Equity Team and was the leader over the C.A.R.E. Team. Both of which sought to create equitable practices in schools that aim to make achievement patterns unpredictable by race and/or ethnicity. I have also worked with the Saving Our Students (S.O.S.) program which is an after school program designed to help students with one-on-one tutoring and online learning opportunities. Most recently, I served as Graduate Coach to seniors at Stone High School. As Graduate Coach I worked individually with students in the area of college admissions, financial aid and scholarships. I also worked closely with the Strive Program in conjunction with the Ann Arbor Rotary Club to present high achieving students with scholarships to Washtenaw Community College.
