As a technical data manager I'm involved in projects that have an emphasis on IT and architectural changes. It covers the coordination of more technical research projects, such as working with genotype/omics datasets and assisting researchers with doing their analyses on high performance computing clusters. Additionally, I also look at automating generic data management activities (such as dataset pseudonymization) using f.e. Python.

As a data manager I prepare and release data for researchers to use during their studies on subjects related to healthy ageing, disease development, and general well-being. Lifelines contains information about 165.000 individuals which will be followed-up for 30 years. It covers information on environmental exposures, (epi)genetics, psychological and social factors, as well as data on health care use to cover societal impact.

Consult on the implementation of technological innovations for patient care and scientific research. I keep in touch with startups that cooperate with the UMCG and facilitate an environment for pilot projects.

As the Innovation Lead for the Public and Health sector at the center I was responsible for creating new business opportunities in this area. This meant that I had regular contact with relevant stakeholders such as municipalities, knowledge centers, universities, and hospitals to discuss the latest IT-developments. Through workshops clients were invited to the center to create prototypes and pan out ideas which they could use for existing or future projects.

I worked for various clients from IBM in different sectors (e.g. Rijkswaterstaat and Jumbo Supermarkten) as a business/functional analyst. Additionally, I was a member of the committee promoting culture and collaboration within our newly established office and was secretary of the works council.

As a student assistant I assisted three of my professors with writing a scientific article. The article introduces a model that can be used to explain how cooperation occurs between promoters of information systems (e.g. project managers and general managers) and stakeholders (e.g. key-users and end-users). The proposed relationships in the model are explained by using several cases, gathered at healthcare organizations involved in information system implementations.

Worked on my thesis for my bachelor degree of Information and Communication Technology. The thesis is about change management within organizations and the intervening between two individuals to achieve persuasion and change. An intervening tool was created on paper and had to be developed for certain mobile devices (cross-platform). Besides developing an application, additional research was conducted to find out if the tool could be expanded for intervening between groups.

Implementing continuous integration for an application that is developed in C# together with unit testing and integration testing.

Developing in Python for a CRM application and keeping in touch with clients that requested help and assistance in using and installing the application.
