I worked in the Robinson Lab at URI's GSO. My research focused on the interactions between biology, geology, and chemistry in past periods of climate change. To do this, I found plankton in deep-sea sediments and measured the chemistry of their shells to reconstruct past climate, nutrient cycles, and even ocean currents.

The University of Rhode Island's Graduate School of Oceanography marine geological sample laboratory hosts samples from around the world and makes samples available via an online database. I curate incoming samples and process sample requests, making geological samples hosted at our facility available to researchers around the globe.

I worked as an ocean science intern aboard E/V Nautilus during the NASA SUBSEA 2018 field campaign. My experience aboard E/V Nautilus included sharing knowledge during live streamed deep sea exploration with viewers across the world via nautiluslive.org. I also aided in sample processing, database management, and writing detailed logs for each dive.

Naval Postgraduate School

I served as a project lead in comparing different LiDAR technologies in their ability to collect and characterize forest metrics at Point Lobos State Reserve and the Naval Postgraduate School, in Monterey.

Working in the paleontology lab at UCSC, I cut and mount bivalve samples to glass slides and conduct isotopic analysis on powdered samples in order to observe shifts in seasonal growth patterns of brachiopods and bivalves throughout the toarcian extinction.

Assess and provide feedback on lab reports for students enrolled in Remote Sensing of the Environment. Utilize excel to analyze and correlate results between multiple laboratories.

Evaluate exam responses gauging each student’s understanding of key concepts relating to marine geology.

Responsible for interdepartmental communication between the Earth Sciences department, Disability Resource Center and students.
