AlBaraka Bank is operating as Islamic Bank in Pakistan since 1992. It has 135 branches in Pakistan and working as a subsidiary of AlBaraka Banking Group (ABG) Bahrain.Being Head of IT Department, I have to keep in liaison with all business and functional units continuous evaluation of their business requirements, assess areas of improvements, new product requirements, development and projections. I am also responsible to ensure the banking technologies alignment with the group eVision policy. Being part of a financial institution, I have to be vigilant about new market based Banking products to get maximum attraction of the customer with due system based customer care mechanism. Followings are my primary responsibilities:• Project Management Office (PMO)• Project Management of Misys Core Banking System implementation project.• Project Management of Merger and Integration Matters (AlBaraka Islamic Bank with Emirates Global Islamic Bank Limited).• Budgeting, Monitoring and Control for IT Finances• Member of Business Process Re-engineering Management Committee• Inter-group Coordination with business units and back office departments.• Vendor Selection and Management• Identification of future enhancement / improvements in existing IT infrastructure/applicationsAchievements:• After merger of AlBaraka Bank with Emirates Global Islamic Bank, IT team successfully completed the migration of 29 branches onto AutoSoft Dynamics’ Islamic Banking system in a record 4 month time. Currently 135 branches are operational live on the system.• Established Project Management Office for In-House and outsourced projects.• Define and Implement different policies and procedure for IT Division• MIS Reporting System, Consolidation System, Consumer / Commercial Vehicle Leasing / financing System, Islamic Export Re-Finance System, Islamic Profit Distribution, mechanism for different Islamic Products, ATM Application Processing System etc.POS Settlement System.
