I had the privilege of working as a Project Associate for six months in a highly collaborative initiative with the prestigious Indian Naval Academy, located in Kannur, Kerala. During this engagement, I contributed significantly to the development of an innovative solution aimed at addressing the persistent challenge of marine fouling on ship hull structures. My primary focus was on creating a superhydrophobic surface, a cutting-edge technology designed to mitigate the adverse effects of fouling, such as increased fuel consumption and environmental impact.In this dynamic research environment, I harnessed my expertise in surface engineering and material science, specifically emphasizing the importance of high surface roughness and low surface energy for superhydrophobic coatings. My efforts were aimed at enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of naval operations by reducing the accumulation of unwanted marine organisms on ship surfaces.This experience not only deepened my understanding of advanced materials and surface engineering but also underscored the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in tackling real-world challenges.
