About Bassem Khalil
I have been working at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for more than five years. In my current role of Data Analyst, I was initially based in Baghdad, Iraq, for two years before relocating to my current location in Belgrade, Serbia. Throughout my time with the ICRC, my work has been focused on supporting the organization's mandate to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence, restore family links, and provide assistance to those in need.I first joined the ICRC as a Data Administrator based in South Sudan, where I managed the organization's operational data ensuring its accuracy and completeness. As a Data Analyst, I have been able to utilize my skills to analyze data and provide crucial insights that aid the ICRC in offering answers to families searching for their missing loved ones in situations of armed conflict and migration. My experience at the ICRC has been both challenging and rewarding. Before my time at the ICRC, I was working as a business intelligence and data consultant. While at Murex in Beirut, I was responsible for analyzing complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, as well as creating data visualizations to present findings in a clear and comprehensible manner.
