Combining my start-up and education experience with my interest and skills in sustainable city planning and mobility, I started Gritty City in order to create a deeper awareness and understanding of the challenges that cities face, and the efforts they are making to address these challenges, to become more sustainable, livable, and accessible. The word "gritty" is often perceived to be a negative quality of a place - as in dirty, tough, or unsafe. I prefer an alternative perception - that a city's (and it's peoples') toughness, resolve, and resilience, is what makes it sustainable, livable, and accessible.

Manage rail station area project for Hatboro, PA, focused on improving pedestrian and bicycle access to station:• Analyze and present existing conditions, including Level of Traffic Stress, desire lines, and crashes, using ArcGIS and Illustrator, to understand issues and opportunities for better pedestrian and bicycle connectivity• Develop appropriate recommendations, based on stakeholder input, existing conditions analysis, and best practices from the field, using Illustrator and InDesign, in order to clearly present findings to stakeholders• Organize stakeholder meeting, including developing presentation and handout, to understand local concerns

Proposed modifications to under-performing suburban bus routes in Montgomery County, PA:• Conducted an existing conditions analysis in Excel and ArcGIS using APC, On-Time Performance, and cost model data to understand ridership patterns and cost efficiency of route segments• Analyzed on-board origin and destination survey responses in Excel and ArcGIS to optimize routingDeveloped a desktop review of peer transit agency service standards
