I am a writer and filmmaker based in Burbank, California. I became interested in vinyl records in junior high school, which led to an interest in film soundtracks, which led to an interest in film and film restoration. I pursued a general film degree in college and worked as the production secretary for season 2 of the Lionsgate/WGN show, Manhattan, then I continued my education at Chapman University and received a Masters in screenwriting. For the next year, I juggled a job at a local record store while simultaneously working as a freelance copy editor for multiple non-fiction authors. After moving to Los Angeles, I found work as an audio description writer, a role that allowed me to use my skills to increase accessibility and inclusivity in the media landscape. During my 2.5 years working at the Boston-based nonprofit, I had the privilege of working with a dedicated, supportive team on a wide variety of shows. The job allowed me to study current trends in the film and television industry and absorb the formats and styles of different genres—valuable information for a screenwriter. As I continue to develop as a writer, I am always seeking new experiences and want to take risks. I value diverse perspectives and do my best to listen and learn from people whose experiences differ from my own, particularly members of marginalized communities. As such, I am interested in all jobs, all people, all places. I want to be a lifelong learner and challenge myself to strive for greater goals and hone skills I didn’t know I had. Though my ultimate ambitions are lofty, I aim to contribute value to the people and organizations with whom I work at every step along the way.
