When I was 14 years old, I was offered my first job at the summer camp. At first, I was reluctant on taking the job because I would be the youngest on staff, and also the less experienced. My former elementary principal was the person who offered me the job and saw the potential I had to be a strong leader in the program regardless of my age. That first day of work, I walked into the school with the unknown written all over my face. What kept me pushing through was the words instill from my former principal about my potential and making the best out of my first job which leads me to capitalize off my performance to continue on having a job during my summer vacations out of school. That first job gave me the calling of being a servant to the community. Whether it’s in the educational or a community-based setting, I know people need encouragement, direction, and strong support to help them move mountains to bring the best out of them.
