Dr. Brandon Brockmyer is an award-winning investigative editor and internationally recognized expert on transparency and accountability with over a decade of experience monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of government policies and social programs. Brandon leads a team of journalists and researchers working to uncover government corruption, civil rights abuses, and other systemic issues. Their investigations have been featured in prominent media outlets including The New York Times and The Washington Post and have prompted bipartisan congressional oversight action on numerous occasions. He oversaw the creation of the award-winning investigative podcast "Bad Watchdog" and led the development of POGO's COVID-19 Relief Spending Tracker, which won multiple awards for its innovative design and has been recognized by the Biden-Harris COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force.Brandon has been a featured speaker at the National Press Foundation, the Anti-Corruption Advocacy Network, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and the Transparency & Accountability Initiative, and served on the World Bank’s Global Partnership for Social Accountability roster of experts. He has provided analysis to ABC News, Bloomberg, the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, the International Budget Partnership, and The Washington Post. Brandon holds a PhD in International Relations from American University (’16) and an MA in Psychology from New York University (’09). He attended the Alliance for Conflict Transformation's Summer Institute on Peace and Conflict Transformation ('07) and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Reed College (’03).
