I am a perceptive business professional with extensive corporate and educational governance experience and impeccable insight. An informed and emotionally intelligent trouble-shooter with an unwavering determination to succeed, whose strategic leadership has created profitable change in businesses and rapid and effective turnaround in educational teams. As well as being Managing Director of Recenseo, an integrated marketing and PR agency engaged by organisations across the education, healthcare, professional services and technology sectors; I am also a Consultant Chair of Governors and Investigations and Complaints Officer for TKAT, a forty-five school Multi-Academy Trust operating across the South East. I turnaround struggling and failing local governance teams, manage HR investigations and handle complaints in line with school, safeguarding, whistleblowing, grievance or employment policies. In 2016, I was a Founding Director in a team that developed a 5MW community solar farm, raising over £5m through private equity and ethical investment. Profits from the scheme create a £50k annual grant fund for the local community and also delivered £80k of Covid specific community funding during the pandemic -putting 40 laptops and remote teaching software into local schools within days of the stay at home order and providing immediate hardship grants to support local people and organisations. A past elected Councillor and Chair of Planning for my local Council , I still have a strong interest in local community matters, UK planning policy and politics on a wider stage. My reading list is dominated by military history and Francophile escapism.

I was appointed by the Trust in September 2022 as Consultant Chair of Governors, tasked with providing mentoring and development support to the governing body so that it can elect a Chair from within its own ranks. The Mill enjoys an engaged team of governors but with no succession plan in place, when their long serving Chair stood down, there were no candidates to replace him. After 4 years with our initial backers, we refinanced the scheme at a cost of £6m and ran a further ethical investment round with Triodos, securing £850k of investment. The profits from the power generation are used to support good causes in Selsey and Sidlesham. With an annual fund of £50k the project has supported a wide range of sports, social, educational, youth, health and well being initiatives. During the pandemic we increased our community funding, delivering 40 laptops into the schools within days of the pandemic and providing immediate grants to support local people through a hardship fund and local Covid buddy schemes.
