National Business Developer

Current

Las Vegas, Nv

Oct 2020 - Present

Business Development Manager

Las Vegas, Nv

My time at ACTenviro allowed me to utilize all the skills I had acquired from the various positions I had held at previous firms. ACT in turn was able to deploy in a wide variety of scenarios throughout my time with the company. I covered areas where there was limited sales and operational presence, worked with local sales personnel to drive LQG opportunities, and also was counted on to stabilize certain accounts/regions during transitions in sales personnel. My experience allowed me to work in numerous geographic areas for the organization while expanding their brand nationally.

Nov 2018 - Sep 2020

National Account Manager

Las Vegas, Nv

As a National Account Manager, I worked with clients having a national or international scope of business in addition to regional large quantity generators. My activities included securing master service agreements as well as securing business through RFPs and direct bids. I also helped ensure delivery of customer service and field operations through regular monitoring and business reviews. I consistently managed a book of business in the $10M range and cross sold multiple lines of business across the enterprise, and was awarded for most business revenue company wide in 2016 with nearly $14M which accounted for approximately 5% of the company's billings.

Jan 2015 - Oct 2018

Technical Services Account Manager - Western Region

Las Vegas, Nv

FOLLOWING THE PURCHASE OF PSC BY STERICYCLE: In my role of Technical Account Manager, I promoted sales with a technical client base including universities, pharmaceutical companies, biotech laboratories, and healthcare in the 10 Western States. Though the position itself was short-lived by choice of Stericycle, I was able to expand my network of university customers beyond the immediate intermountain region by drawing upon my technical lab pack background. It remains one of my favorite client segments to interact with to this day.

May 2014 - Jan 2015

Technical Sales Representative

Psc

Reno, Nv

Upon my return to the States, I was fortunate enough to attain a job as a sales representative for PSC serving in an under-developed market. By using the technical skills I had learned at Clean Harbors, I was quickly able to establish my presence in the intermountain region despite never having sold or even lived there before. PSC rewarded my success in appropriating new clients by enlisting me to develop their business in surrounding states. What I really enjoyed about this role were the people that I met and befriended along the way including the customers I still have relationships with but also all the great coworkers that treated me with kindness and allowed me to learn from them even though I was an outsider. I would not be where I am today without them. Through relationship selling, I was able to take a nearly non existent local revenue base and increase it by nearly 250%.

Dec 2008 - Apr 2014

Account Manager

Siteler Wash

Redwood City, Ca

Stationed overseas, this position with Siteler Wash was an international post managing a team of customer service agents assisting clients avail mobile automotive services at their place of employment in the San Francisco Bay area and surrounding communities. Using my sales experience in this tech start-up scenario, I also trained the staff to learn the finer points up cross-selling/up-selling. While being exposed to most of the tech industry leaders in Silicon Valley, I was blessed to be able to experience working in another country which helped broaden my perspective of the world.

Feb 2007 - Aug 2008

Account Manager

St. Louis, Mo

Following my brief stint as a lab pack specialist, Clean Harbors approached me to assume the sales responsibilities for their service center in St. Louis. Though initially apprehensive, and with some reluctance, I did accept and it remains one of the best decisions I have made in my life. While I accepted soley to gain additional industry experience and learn more about how the operations portion of the business got fed, this role really took my talent for sales and transformed it into a true passion. By combining with my technical experience to this point, I was easily able to effectively assist clients with waste profiling, treatment strategies, reactive materials stabilization and other technical aspects of a potential sale. In only 4 years, I was able to grow the service center from 1 anchor client with a handful of satellite accounts to become the preeminent provider of hazardous waste services, and especially lab packs, in the St. Louis metro area. In addition, we became a flagship locality for Clean Harbors' Apollo program which featured chemists and technicians working full time on customer sites. I concurrently had 10 chemists working at 6 client facilities and also obtained the contracts for all the major universities and community colleges in the area. Of most satisfaction, was being able to place a chemist on site with the same client I had worked with at the start of my career with the organization. it is with tremendous pride that this person is still on site 16+ years later as it demonstrates an understanding of my client's needs as well as the ability to maintain continuity of business with a client.

Oct 2001 - Jul 2005

Technical Services Specialist

St. Louis, Mo

After working as a Lab Pack chemist for 18 months, I was promoted to the role of lab pack specialist. As essentially a "junior" sales person, I was tasked with increasing lab pack business throughout eastern MO and southern IL. Using the skills I had learned as a chemist coupled with my newly discovered talent for sales, I had a successful 6 month run of establishing our presence in the region. I was able to complete with other more established vendors and was able to grow the local office from a single person operation, to a bonafide lab pack team with consistent work available to them on a daily basis without the need for extensive travel out of state.

Mar 2001 - Oct 2001

Clean Pack Chemist

St. Louis, Mo

Though I had no idea what a lab pack even was when I started with Clean Harbors, this is the position that really got my hazardous waste career on its current track. After first working as the onsite program manager at the company's largest client in the area, I transitioned into an external field chemist servicing a variety of clients in primarily the MO and KS region. I performed chemical lab packs on site, working Household Hazardous Waste events and pesticide collections before eventually becoming a chemist/driver trainer and being honored as a Top 10 "Cream of the Crop" chemist nationwide. All of these experiences helped me learn during my initial formative years in the waste industry.

Sep 1999 - Mar 2001

Groundwater Sampling Technician

Environmental Monitoring & Technologies

Chicago, Il

As a recently graduated biologist, I accepted a role with EMT as a water sampling technician. My job was to perform groundwater sampling at landfill and refineries as well as industrial waste waster sampling at manufacturing facilities throughout Illinois and Missouri. I worked remotely and primarily independently to execute sampling projects and ensure delivery of samples to designated laboratories. Though I was only in the position a short time, it help kickstart my career in my chosen field of study.
