"If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door." -Milton Berle I began my career by cultivating my customer service and people development skills at KFC while studying at Edison State Community College. Alongside my KFC managers, I helped co-train five new customer service team members, one of which successfully progressed into a shift manager role. I started studying at Mount St. Joseph University shortly after, where I learned various programming languages, object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, automata, and algorithms. After graduation, I found a good culture fit at Leadr, Inc., where I currently work as a Backend Software Engineer. During my time at Mount St. Joseph University, I taught myself game development outside of the classroom using Unity and C#. I’ve led four different teams in the annual 48 hour GMTK game jam from 2019 to 2022, the most recent of which was a remote team of five spread across five different countries and four different time zones. Throughout the game jams, I’ve facilitated a pseudo-hiring process, team building, team meetings, assisted in executing a social media marketing strategy, developed core gameplay mechanics, UI design, level design, and UX design. I'm confident in my ability to manage my time, stay self-motivated, and learn independently due to my experience with remote work and online classes. I'm a creative thinker who loves giving life to ideas. The creative process of bringing ideas from conception to reality using logic and creativity brings me immense pride and satisfaction. I have an avid interest in game development, web development, app development, and software development. When I'm not at work, you can find me playing with or training my three golden retrievers (I can't resist the tail wagging and their never-ending craving for belly rubs). I also enjoy decompressing by playing games, watching shows, reading books, and consuming other different types of entertainment with my girlfriend.
