Norway is member of the World Heritage Committee from November 2017 to November 2021. The Committee is responsible for the global implementation of the UNESCO World Heritage Convention. During the mandate I'm the coordinator of the Norwegian team to the Committee. In addition I prepare items to be examined by the WH Committee such as nominations, State of Conservation Reports, policys etc as well as bilateral meetings. I'm also part of the team representing Norway at the WH Committee Sessions, such as 42COM in Manama (2018), 43COM Baku (2019) and 44COM online (2021). December 2015 - present: The Norwegian Directorate of Cultural Heritage is responsible for the implementation of the 1954 Hauge Convention on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict. In my position I take actively part in this work as well as represent Norway at Statutory Meetings to the Convention at UNESCO HG. December 2015 - November 2017: Bilateral collaborations on cultural heritage projects with Georgia and Russia, as well as on projects in with the Czech Republic and Romania under the EEA Grants umbrella. Implementation of conventions in connection to the European Council in general, and on UNESCO conventions in particular, such as the Hague Convention and its second protocol, the World Heritage Convention and the Convention on the Safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage.

Cooperation partners: Norwegian Telecom Museum (2005-2006), Hedmark County (2011), Norwegian Museums Association (2011), Hardanger and Voss Museum (2011), KA - Association for Employers in the Church of Norway and Church-related NGOs (2011), Trondheim Jewish Museum (2011-2015), Norwegian Crafts Development (2013-2015), Arts Council Norway (2013-2015) and Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2014).Since 2012 I have also initiated dialogue and cooperation with several international partners in order to learn from them as well as to develop my network. Instiutions: Conseil québécois du patrimoine vivant in Canada, Spanish Labrit Multimedia, Belgian Tapis plein, Centre français du patrimoine culturel immatériel in Vitré, L'École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) in Paris and the Moroccan-Jewish group (Haketía) at Instituto Cervantes, also in Paris. Since 2014 I have also been a member of the Nordic network of instructors on the UNESCO 2003 Convention.

As an individual consultant: Evaluation the Talent Project (Talentprosjektet) at the Førdefestivalen. Conduction of fieldwork at the Førde administration archives as well as 30 interviews with masters and students from Norway, Peru, Venezuela, the Philippines, Indonesia, Nepal, Estonia and Kenya.

Trondheim-Området, Norge

As an individual consultant: Development of the museum's strategies for 2012 to 2017 (strategy plan 1) as well as for 2016 to 2020 (strategy plan 2). Project and concept development in 2014 and 2015, mainly on administration and budgeting, collection management, development of guided tours in the city centre and local community participation. All projects are performed in close cooperation with the museum board and the Jewish community in the city of Trondheim.

As an individual consultant: Author of the article "Å være, kunne og gjøre"​ in the book titled "Leve kulturarven!" (Museumsforlaget, 2013), marking the tenth anniversary of the UNESCO 2003 Convention. In 2014 and 2015: conduction of reports and concept development for the intsitute, which is accredited NGO under the convention just referred to.

Sør-Afrika

As an individual consultant: Conducted the mid-term review of the "Implementation Programme of Second Periodic Report in Africa"​. The review required fieldwork in South Africa and close cooperation with African World Heritage Fund, as well as with the partners UNESCO World Heritage Centre, ICCROM, Nordic World Heritage Foundation, Centre for Heritage Development and L'Ecole du Patrimoine Africain. The review was performed between 19 March and 1 May 2014.

Since 2009 I have been working on projects as a Project Manager and Senior Advisor concerning the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003 Convention) and the UNESCO Memory of the World Program. 2014: Member of the national board in charge of evaluating nominations for the 2003 Convention September to October 2013: Translation of nominations and procedures from English/French into NorwegianMarch to November 2012: Developing procedures for the nomination of Norwegian intangible cultural heritage on the international lists. Member of the working group in charge of the implementation of the Convention and of a national conference in Trondheim (October 22 to 23). Represented Norway at the 4GA.December 2010 to September 2011: Project Manager of the reestablishment of the UNESCO Memory of the World Program in Norway. In cooperation with the National Committee, I prepared procedures for national nominations and arranged an international kick off-conference on the subject. I also attended the 4th International Conference of the UNESCO Memory of the World Program in Warsaw, Poland (May 18 to 21).September 2009 to December 2010: As a Project Manager I was the main author of the report with the Norwegian title Immateriell kulturarv i Norge. En utredning om UNESCOs konvensjon av 17. oktober 2003 om vern av den immaterielle kulturarven, which examined the 2003 Convention from a national perspective proposing strategies for the further implementation. During the project I worked closely with a working group consisting of representatives from institutions specialising on the subject. I also cooperated with the Norwegian Ministry of Culture, the Norwegian Commission for UNESCO and The Norwegian Delegation for UNESCO. Concerning international cooperation and network, I was a delegate to the 4.COM and to the 3GA, as well as observed at expert meetings during the mission.

Paris-Området, Frankrike

During this mission I functioned as both a Programme Specialist III and as a coordinator, mainly working on projects marking the tenth anniversary of the 2003 Convention. I assisted UNESCO in the preparation, organization and reporting of Chengdu International Conference on Intangible Cultural Heritage, in China (June 14 to 16). The tasks consisted of preparation of the scientific programme, including concept note, background papers and communication with panellists, development of concept and technical coordination in close cooperation with the Chinese counterparts, participation at the conference as well as drafting of the report from the event. I also coordinated communication with ministries and delegations as well as facilitated the planning of the Director General’s attendance at the conference. A second project of this year of celebrations was related to the exhibition Our Ways, Our World focusing on intangible cultural heritage and sustainable development. In this project I mainly revised the concept and project plan of the exhibition, including budget and work plans. The exhibition was launched at UNESCO HQ on 28 October 2013.

During this project I coordinated the Third Annual Meeting of the UNESCO World Heritage related Category 2 Institutes and Centres (Oslo, March 5 to 8). In addition to the communication with the World Heritage Centre and the Category 2 Centeres and reporting, the mission gave valuable insight to World Heritage policy from a Nordic point of view in relation to the defined overall goals and work of UNESCO.

From May 13 to 16 2012, Norway hosted the interregional conference Living with World Heritage at Røros Mining Town and the Circumference. The Conference was a contribution to the 40th anniversary of the World Heritage Convention and addressed experiences and challenges linked to the theme of the year: “World Heritage and Sustainable Development: The Role of Local Communities.” Almost 140 people from 28 countries participated. Prior to the Conference, from January until May, representatives from the World Heritage properties iSimangaliso Wetland Park, Richtersveld Cultural and Botanical Landscape, Røros Mining Town and Cirkumference, West Norwegian Fjords and Vega Archipelago were connected and visited each other, in order to discuss on the defined issues. As the Project Manager, holding the overall responsibility for the conference, I was in charge of budgeting, planning, development of concept and communication with national and international counterparts on all levels.

Writer of the Norwegian guide on universal design of churches; Tilgjengelighet til kirkebygg. The project gave insight to the national Cultural Heritage Act, the Planning and Building Act and the Act against discrimination.

As a Project Manager, my main task was to develop a guide on accessibility (universal design) to architecturally and culturally valuable buildings. I also coordinated a working group, arranged seminars and excursions and built national and international network. The project gave insight to the national Cultural Heritage Act, the Planning and Building Act and the Act against discrimination.

As a Project Manager I was in charge of to the establishment of the museum, in close cooperation with the board. The tasks concerned administration, planning, budgets, fund raising, lobbying and communication with relevant political departments, the organization of the museum and the coordination of people working at, or in cooperation with, the museum. As a curator I established and organized the museum`s archives and collections. I performed interviews and documentation on subjects concerning Jewish multicultural identity, traditional cooking, wedding traditions and Brit Milah, and led the work with the Norwegian-Jewish cookbook Jødisk mat på norske fat (Forlaget Press 2009) and a food festival. I also took part in celebrations of rituals and holidays of the Jewish community with whom I still keep in touch.

During this mission I analysed the impact of infrastructural development on cultural heritage. One project concerned the implementation of power lines in the area of the stave church of Borgund, another project concerned the impact of road development in the functionalist architecture of the city centre of Tønsberg.

Through the tasks given by The Norwegian Telecom Museum I was given the chance to “establish” and develop myself as a curator. I mainly did documentation and research projects, which resulted in reports, articles and background materials for exhibitions and films at the museum. In the projects I focused on telecommunication in a social and cultural context, such as the importance of the worldwide Internet-based phone cards for immigrants and the Sami`s need of bilingual telecommunication systems. I also worked with subjects related to the traditional and practical knowledge needed to manage the pre-digitalized technology of telecommunication. From September 2000 to December 2001 I was the Project Manager of a documentation and research project of teenagers` use of different communication tools, which resulted in seveal reports and articles. The project was a cooperation between Norwegian Telecom Museum, Norwegian Railway Museum and Norwegian Road Museum.
