• Developed and executed the US and Global integrated patient advocacy strategy with the Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), rare disease, disability, patient advocacy and provider communities, and Biogen affiliates.• Directed cross-functional engagement in external initiatives that are shaping the SMA and rare disease landscape, including clinical trials, real world data generation and registries, value assessments, and access to care. • Ensured the patient and caregiver perspectives inform the SMA portfolio’s R&D and commercial goals.

Lead advocacy activities at the federal and state level in support of the policy priorities of the Epilepsy Foundation.Strengthen state and federal legislative and regulatory advocacy and communications activities by unifying state affiliates/chapters under shared public policy priorities and messaging.Expand collaboration activities by pursuing strategic partnerships and actively participating in coalitions with patient and community groups; state and federal legislative offices and agencies; and local and national media.During my time at the Epilepsy Foundation, I brought together more than 200 national and state patient and community groups to advocate for greater patient protections under the Affordable Care Act and was actively involved in efforts to maintain strong bipartisan Congressional support for Medicare Part D’s six protected classes policy. I dedicate time to advancing policies that facilitate patient engagement in conversations on the value of healthcare and was also very active on innovation initiatives that sought to bring promising therapies to market faster, from regulatory reforms to developing a better understanding of the biomedical innovation ecosystem. At the state level, I successfully brought together Epilepsy Foundation affiliates across the country to adopt shared public policy priorities and unified messages, which led to a significant increase in the number of bills in which affiliates engaged in year over year. I collaborated with a diverse group of stakeholders – from patient groups and industry to legislators and regulatory agencies -- to ensure the voice of the epilepsy community was part of policy discussions around access to care.

• Championed leadership development and community impact initiatives, greater member engagement, and collaboration with community groups in support of strategic plan goals for 400+ volunteer member organization. • Participated in several Junior League national conference on non-profit management, leadership development, volunteer management and stakeholder engagement; responsible for budget, operations, and vendor management.

Responsible for expanding NOF's advocacy program by identifying and building relationships with “grasstops” advocates; mobilizing grassroots in support of legislation; developing Website content, enhancing social media presence and managing overall advocacy communication strategy, tools and resources; planning regional advocacy events and lobby days on Capitol Hill.
