Responsible for producing and overseeing the zoo’s education programme serving ~12,000 learners in formal sessions and ~200,000 informally each year, including working with a network of local schools, the youth justice service, volunteers and interns, charities, the Home Office and Department of Education, and many other stakeholders.My work included setting up new partnerships, designing and delivering conservation educationprogrammes; project management; overseeing bird conservation programmes; setting up the first UK zoo-based youth board; and collaborating on an international research-practice partnership with UCL, focusing on supporting equitable informal learning practices where my role involved co-developing resources for the informal STEM learning sector (see yestem.org).
