As Creative Director & Architect at New Practice, I work to develop the creative capacity of cities and to connect people with the decision making processes that underpin the urban experience. I work with communities and local stakeholders to directly translate their ideas and values into practical design outcomes from public realm to architecture. I am interested in exploring how people use their spaces and listening to clients and end users to make their spaces work better for them. I develop and deliver creative workspaces and community assets predominantly through adapting and renovating existing structures to maintain social and cultural capital within our urban fabric. I excel at delivering high quality outcomes for a wide range of projects and am experienced in the management of design teams, ensuring project momentum and maintaining clear communication. Through Many Studios I explore sustainable business models within the creative industries and support the daily management and maintenance of a creative hub in the east end of Glasgow. Across my current roles, I works collaboratively with architects, artists and technicians; and balancing client and stakeholder needs, drawing upon my depth of experience to create tactical, tactile and thoughtful outcomes.
