LangLui-LearnI created a vocabulary-learning app to help users learn and practice new words, especially if they are learning a new language. I implemented a flashcard system on the front page for on-the-go practice as well as a way to add drawings and visuals to supplement words. For users who want a more in-depth understanding of the words they're studying, I designed a variety of practice quizzes that include but are not limited to usage, part of speech, and formality.

Using an application called Twine, I wrote a text-based game discussing technology and mental health (specifically, depression). In this game, I created various routes that the player can take throughout the everyday routine of the character. I learned CSS and JavaScript through the desire to add colour as well as some pictures to add visual to the story.

I worked with an eighth grade teacher to foster a positive learning environment. I created and taught lesson plans for various subjects, from vocabulary to poetry to short stories. I created a unit plan (discussing coming of age across cultures) with activities for every day of the month, complete with ten full lesson plans. I provided intervention in order to stimulate group discussion, as well as graded various assignments, from vocabulary exams to essays, and entered the grades in.

I worked in the IELLab as a intern and student assistant. I studied the speech patterns of children who are learning English as a Second Language, specifically with children (toddler to middle school) whose first languages are Spanish and Mandarin. I transcribed audio recordings into written words and performed data analysis on how multilingual children form their sentences. At the end of the semester, I participated in the poster symposium and presented our research to various professors.

I prepared pastries and various baked goods that were designated to all of the cafes across campus. When there were no events coming up, I unpacked boxes of frozen pastries and lined them up on sheets to get sent to each cafe. When we had orders for various events, though, I prepared them: for weddings, I made chocolate-covered strawberries (decorated to look like a bride and groom); for Mardi Gras, I baked and decorated the king cake.

I student taught with a seventh-grade teacher, teaching vocabulary lessons to two classes of twenty-five each. I created activities for the vocabulary lessons and graded other materials that the teacher needed.

I student taught with an English teacher, working in an eleventh-grade classroom. I observed a class of thirty students and provided support for the teacher. I prepared lesson plans and maintained various classroom environment needs in order to encourage a healthy learning environment.
