I work for businesses that fascinate me. I have a science background and a naturally curious and analytical mind which means I want to learn all about the organisation and its people. I spend time meeting fellow employees to learn about the business, what they do and why they’re proud of it. I also want to hear what is difficult and what can be improved. By doing so, I discover what makes the business ‘tick’ and can identify opportunities for improvements which drive an increase in profitability and shareholder value.When working with the leadership team, I can understand complex problems that the business is experiencing and quickly grasp the concepts being discussed. It enables me to contribute in the moment, facilitating discussions and simplifying the problems to the key challenges to support finding solutions.My approach with my teams is positive and encouraging. I believe that to retain the best people and enable them to achieve their potential, they need to feel supported, valued and empowered to be creative and question the status quo. In providing this positive environment, they can support a continual improvement agenda, finding efficiencies in systems and processes and enhancing reporting which leads to better informed business decisions.
