Based on my success in the SVT role, I was able to engage in a full-time technical outreach role. I created content and advocated for Codewind, an open source developer tool that enables developers to easily create and manage cloud-native applications in the user’s preferred IDE.I coordinated opportunities to establish Codewind’s presence in the RTP area via technical community outreach happy hours, conferences, and college events. I also hosted retrospectives with team to apply feedback and insights gained during the event, from participants and volunteers, for future improvement. In Q1 and Q2 of 2020 alone, I represented the Codewind team at 3 external events, including DevNexus in Atlanta, GA, and an internal virtual, site-wide event, showing significant growth of outreach. I was the go-to person for technical demos and outreach opportunities for the Codewind team.I also defined target audiences and laid the groundwork in developing an incremental, foundational approach to user journeys for online content and branding (blogs, guides, quick labs, workshops, videos). I wrote 5 foundational blogs on Codewind, an Open Liberty-based quick lab for Think 2020 conference (publicly available), and instructional and personal journey blogs in cloud-native space.

As a System Verification & Test engineer, I owned the end-to-end user experience for the Codewind plugin functionality on supported IDEs. I collaborated closely with developers to ensure proper function and improve product quality.I planned test scenarios, documented dozens of testing processes, mentored 2 new team members, and took charge of team’s apprentice via IBM’s New Collar Initiative, who was hired on upon graduation. As a result, I was recognized as a Distinguished Mentor in an internal program designed to recognize IBMers making a strong impact on business, week after week, from the IBM Hybrid Cloud Integration team. I also lobbied for Codewind’s presence in IBM’s local technical evangelism efforts, leading to regular exposure internally, and led 4 external-facing events (including All Things Open in Raleigh, NC) and 1 internal site-wide event. I provided technical support for IBM's PureApplication Platform (PureApplication System, Software, and Service), a hybrid cloud offering that enabled clients to simplify and automate their application environment deployments. With PureApp, clients could deploy their apps in minutes, not months. As a hybrid cloud application platform, it was possible to run either, or both, cloud-native and cloud-enabled enterprise apps on the same system in your private cloud. Using pre-built, customizable patterns, it was possible to deploy application environments with just a few clicks.As a software support engineer for PureApplication Platform, my primary role was to enable client success. This included assisting clients by troubleshooting issues throughout all aspects of the PureApp experience, from configuring to deploying and managing the system. This often required collaboration across different product teams and subject matter experts, making every issue a promising educational opportunity in product knowledge and technical skill. I also provided technical and operational support for our new Cloud Foundation offering, IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions (September 2016 - December 2017). Other roles within my team include creating new material for team education (media), and restructuring resources to streamline the search for shared processes and information in our knowledge base.
