I taught English I Pre-AP and on-level English I for one year in Dallas ISD, an urban district. While teaching, I served on various committees, including the Academy of Engineering (AOE) faculty committee, scholarship application committee, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) application committee. While at Weber Shandwick, a majority of my time was spent as the direct client contact for the American Airlines Horizon technology account, where I focused on internal communications for the team, as well as external communications assistance during the airlines's merger with US Airways. In addition, I worked with the larger American Airlines team on various projects, events, and communications needs, including town hall meetings with new executive leadership, Snowball Express, and daily news clips.Approximately 25 percent of my time was devoted to the GM News Bureau team, which focused on proactive media relations. Our team strove to secure media placements in outlets the automaker is not typically seen. I also assisted with news tracking and monitoring, as well as varied communications needs and strategy.Finally, I assisted various teams when needed and when my schedule allowed, including nonprofit, pro-bono work for Austin Creative Reuse, new business ventures to expand the firm's healthcare base, and RadioShack.
