About Becca Smith

Becca Smith is a Policy Advisor at All Our Kin, a national nonprofit organization that trains, supports, and sustains family child care educators. As part of the organization’s technical assistance team, Becca supports national, state, and local partners to create the conditions for family child care to thrive. She believes deeply in the power of family child care and the role that it plays in a comprehensive early childhood education system that works for the children and families that face the greatest barriers to accessing care. Prior to All Our Kin, Becca supported a variety of research projects in early childhood and K-12 education at American Institutes for Research (AIR). During her time at AIR, Becca sought to understand how large-scale research and evaluation can inform policy change and implementation. Her passion for research-informed policy began during her undergraduate work with two early childhood organizations, Jumpstart, and Strategies for Children, where she engaged in state-level advocacy projects that utilized educator voice, data, and stakeholder input to advance the case for increased access to quality early learning environments for all children.
