I work across the Teesside process industries with major corporate companies in community response and public relations, as well as working with Evening Gazette producing the articles for the 20/20 vision quarterly supplement. For some of these companies I am their direct PR contact called upon to discuss business issues with the media and produce press statements on key issues.I am also the key contact for the community and polictical representatives around the Wilton, Billingham and North Tees industrial sites. I have sole responsibility in organising the Community Calendar produced by many of the areas compaines -a vital communication tool which integrates our industry with the schools and community closest to our sites.I am part of the Wilton Site Reputation Steering group which seeks to improve promotion of the site, increasing the numbers of companies involved in site reputation activities. Improving Wilton site educational programmes and streamlining and improving the effectiveness of community interfaces.I believe that the PR role is vitally important in connecting an industry that at times in the past has had a poor image to the community in general. It is also very important that we show our industries in good light to help with influencing new talent to our companies and the Teesside skill base remains as strong as ever to support incoming and expanding businesses.I believe that I have successfully integrated my education and training forging my successful career path to date and I will continue to do this. I am now committed to a career path within the process industr, and I am extremely passionate about integrating the community with the industry. I am also passionate about representing the Wilton sites and the industry so we keep bringing in young talented people such as apprentices and graduates alike.
