Supervise a team of eight professional staff. Oversee high-level water policy development including Colorado’s first Water Plan as directed by Governor Hickenlooper. Responsible for directing and implementing the Statewide Water Supply Initiative; support and oversee activities for the Inter-Basin Compact Committee and nine Basin Roundtables. Integrate programs and duties within the agency across sections including: education, climate change, water conservation, drought protection and grant management. Negotiations with internal and external stakeholders regarding complex water resource issues under the Board’s statutory authorities. Provides leadership and expertise to water users and citizens of Colorado concerning statewide water issues.

– Responsible for guidance and overseeing the activities of the eight Divisions within DNR in the area of water policy development. Collaborated with the Director and Deputies to develop policy, monitor emerging water issues within the Department and across Colorado. Coordinated response to interstate water compact issues. Ensured the eight Divisions complied with Federal Government regulations and requests. Coordinated and monitored division participation in endangered species recovery programs. Effectively engaged with private, local, state and federal agencies to ensure Colorado's interests were considered and incorporated into plans that impact water use and supply in Colorado.
