I am the editor and producer for the Texas Newsroom’s statewide newscast unit. The Texas Newsroom is a collaboration between NPR, KUT in Austin, KERA in North Texas, Texas Public Radio in San Antonio, and Houston Public Media. In this role I am responsible for the production of statewide newscasts including:+ Managing, editing, and assigning stories to two newscasters to produce six live newscasts per day that air on 20+ public radio stations in Texas reaching 400,000+ listeners + Pitching, editing, writing, and fact-checking dozens of web stories since October 2021 that have gotten over 70,000 views + Conducting research and interviews as well as editing audio to produce 8-10 newscast stories daily+ Collaborating with editors, reporters, and producers to cover top stories for a statewide audience
