This was my first business venture, and certainly not the last. Although it did not last taking the initiative to attempt to start a business was a great opportunity to learn through mistakes.CloudNineBedFrames was an E-Commerce store that aimed to sell designer bed frames ranging from high end upholstery to modernized built in storage frames. I attempted a drop-shipping model in which I acted as a middle man fronting the buying opportunities to customers from larger retailers across the… Show more This was my first business venture, and certainly not the last. Although it did not last taking the initiative to attempt to start a business was a great opportunity to learn through mistakes.CloudNineBedFrames was an E-Commerce store that aimed to sell designer bed frames ranging from high end upholstery to modernized built in storage frames. I attempted a drop-shipping model in which I acted as a middle man fronting the buying opportunities to customers from larger retailers across the globe.The success: CloudNineBedFrames successfully ran add campaigns getting over 2000 impressions in 2 months with over 1000 clicks. This resulted in high activity on the website and a few abandoned carts. CloudNineBedFrame also successfully set up email marketing through customer service channels, and automated emails. This included remarketing emails sent to customers with abandoned carts or checkouts, and a separate customer service channel in which I responded to customers questions and enquires.The failures: CloudNineBedFrames shut down 2 months after launch with no true revenue. I failed to create turnover on product due to a lack of customer retention time on the website. Activity is only useful if it turns into checkouts. I believe the failure was due to poor product choices; however, I will only truly know when I try again.Overall I’m glad to have failed at this opportunity.
