I started CK Industrial Engineers Ltd as a design apprentice in 2011. The scheme lasted 3 years. Upon completion I became a design engineer. I gained experience in all departments including design, manufacture, project management, inspection, quality control and assembly. My role now as design engineer is to design fixtures and jigs for all stages of vehicle manufacture. I worked on site for projects in the UK and internationally, performing trials and installations for major automotive companies.  Researching and developing ideas for new products and production systems. Using CAD to create detailed designs to customer specifications. Communicating with customers and support agencies on file transfer issues. (FTP, Leapfile, OEM) Providing design support at all stages of the design process through to installation. Develop and maintain project plans for jobs. Creating and planning new production processes. Advising the purchasing department on brought out parts, material queries and cost control. Conduct on-site trial and bulk installations offering technical support and solutions. Answering technical questions from customers with clear explanations. Improving the design, performance and efficiency of existing products. Writing progress reports for project managers and clients. Undertaking stress and weight calculations. Considering issues such as cost, safety and time constraints. Checking designs and drawings for accuracy and errors.
